According to Mr. Hoang Anh, throughout this important journey, businesses and entrepreneurs in Ho Chi Minh City have consistently maintained their role as an economic engine through many innovative production and business models, especially breakthroughs in technology and green transformation. They continue to maintain production, create jobs for millions of workers, contribute to the state budget, and build strong economic capacity for the country in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.

According to Mr. Tuan, Vietnam is a maritime nation, and the East Sea lies along one of the world's busiest container shipping routes. The strategy for developing the marine economy, including the maritime economy, has received special attention from the Party and the Government. Vietnam's master plans for seaport system development in different periods have consistently identified the objective and strategy of developing international transshipment ports. In particular, as Ho Chi Minh City expands the Cai Mep - Thi Vai port complex, an area that plays an especially important role in the country's socio-economic development, the city is strengthening its position as an economic engine and a major national center for industry, seaports, aviation, and logistics. The Ho Chi Minh City growth region includes Binh Duong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, and Dong Nai City. These are favorable conditions and a strong foundation for Ho Chi Minh City businesses to proactively invest in technology and human resources as part of their digital and green transformation roadmaps for global integration.

Mr. Pham Quoc Long, Chairman of the Vietnam Ship Agents, Brokers and Maritime Services Providers Association (VISABA), said that if 81 years ago the nation's greatest aspiration was Independence - Freedom, today the aspiration of Ho Chi Minh City businesses is to bring Vietnam to a new level and establish a strong position in international markets. One example is that Vietnamese products are no longer limited to the mindset of low-cost outsourcing. Instead, businesses are focusing on developing knowledge-intensive products with high added value.

Key industries of Ho Chi Minh City, such as food processing, high-tech agriculture, and logistics, are gradually integrating more deeply into global value chains. The daring, dynamic, and creative spirit of the people of Ho Chi Minh City in particular, and the southern provinces in general, has combined with the aspiration for economic independence and self-reliance, creating strong internal momentum that drives businesses to continuously make breakthroughs. In the green development strategy, businesses have also been gradually implementing transformation in line with Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and national digital transformation. In particular, reducing emissions, transitioning to renewable energy, and developing environmentally friendly biological products are becoming mandatory standards for entering demanding international markets. Flexible restructuring, readiness to adapt to changes in the global economy, and the search for and expansion of new supply chains are also essential so that businesses are not left behind in the process of global integration.

Mr. Ton Lam, an overseas Vietnamese in the United States and General Director of Hoa An Vien Co., Ltd., said that National Day on September 2, 2026, is a meaningful occasion to look back with pride. The responsibility of the Vietnamese business community in general, and Ho Chi Minh City businesses in particular, is to continue writing this glorious history through outstanding economic achievements.

According to Mr. Lam, the Party and the State have consistently maintained the policy of accompanying businesses and creating a favorable environment, considering entrepreneurs and overseas Vietnamese intellectuals to be important strategic resources for strengthening the country's position in the new development stage. One important task is to build mechanisms and ecosystems that connect the resources of Vietnamese people living abroad. A key focus is to establish databases and global networks of experts, intellectuals, scientists, entrepreneurs, and younger generations of overseas Vietnamese; create platforms that match supply and demand; and strengthen connections between these networks and the development needs of ministries, sectors, local authorities, businesses, research institutes, and universities in Vietnam. Through this approach, potential can be transformed into cooperation programs, investment projects, technology transfer activities, and innovation initiatives. In particular, the consistent direction is to move from organizing individual activities toward creating long-term connection mechanisms, and from mobilizing and gathering resources toward accompanying, supporting, and fully utilizing those resources.
