A delegation from Tra Vinh province visits and works with Portcoast on the potential for seaport development. On the morning of November 20th, in Ho Chi Minh City, a delegation from Tra Vinh province, led by Mr. Le Van Han, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, had a working session with Portcoast to discuss a report on the potential for seaport development in Tra Vinh and the technology of digital transformation of infrastructure.

The delegation included Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Chau Van Hoa; advisory units providing consultation, proposals, and critiques on socio-economic development policies to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders from various provincial departments and agencies; leaders of Duyen Hai District and Duyen Hai Town People's Committees.

At the session, Mr. Tran Tan Phuc, Chairman of the Board of Portcoast, expressed gratitude to the Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee for their support during Portcoast's implementation of projects in the province over the years. Portcoast is honored to contribute to the development of Tra Vinh through key infrastructure projects it has consulted on.

The Chairman of Portcoast stated that Portcoast leads the field in seaport design and marine engineering consultancy and is a pioneer in digital transformation for infrastructure. Over nearly 20 years of research and development in maritime and inland waterways in the Mekong Delta, Portcoast has recognized Tra Vinh's outstanding advantages and potential in seaports and logistics compared to other localities.

Based on this, Portcoast hopes the Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee will visit and discuss topics related to the potential development of seaports and logistics in Tra Vinh, digital infrastructure transformation, and relevant technologies.

According to the company's presentation, the project “Research and Development of Deepwater Seaports in Tra Vinh Province” aligns with Resolution No. 01-NQ/DH dated October 17, 2020, of the 11th Tra Vinh Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, aiming to position Tra Vinh as a key province in marine economic development in the Mekong Delta region.

The project aims to establish perspectives, objectives, orientations, and both short- and long-term solutions to integrate Tra Vinh's seaports into the transportation supply chain, advancing and modernizing them into clusters of deepwater ports, transshipment ports, and gateway ports for the entire region. It seeks to raise awareness, responsibility, and unified action among all levels, sectors, and citizens for sustainable seaport development, creating consensus and strong political will.

The project also provides a scientific foundation for provincial authorities to develop policies for seaport and maritime economic development in the Mekong Delta; draft development plans; and implement solutions to effectively utilize the province’s maritime advantages for sustainable development.

During the session, delegates were introduced to and discussed the potential, advantages, and planning for seaport and logistics development in Tra Vinh province. They also reviewed Portcoast's digital infrastructure transformation technologies and some digital transformation projects implemented in Tra Vinh and other notable provinces and cities.

In his speech, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Han acknowledged and highly valued the “Research and Development of Deepwater Seaports in Tra Vinh Province” project by Portcoast, as well as its contributions to marine economic development and digital infrastructure transformation, fostering innovative thinking in project management.

The Chairman emphasized that the research and development of deepwater seaports in Tra Vinh would boost the marine economy, establish international transshipment and gateway ports for the region, and enhance the competitiveness of the Mekong Delta in Vietnam and globally.

The Chairman stated that Tra Vinh province would form a task force to refine the project dossier and continue discussions with Portcoast to outline a step-by-step implementation plan for submission to the Prime Minister as soon as possible.
