Portcoast and Thuyloi University Introduce Digital Twin and AI Agent Solutions for Higher Education

On the afternoon of August 6, at T35 Hall, Thuyloi University, in collaboration with Portcoast Consultant Corporation, introduced Digital Twin and AI Agent solutions, along with potential directions for their application in higher education.

Attending the program, on behalf of Portcoast were Mr. Tran Tan Phuc – Chairman of the Board of Directors, together with the Company's experts. On behalf of Thuyloi University were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Viet – Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Hue – Standing Vice Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Canh Thai – Vice Rector, along with leaders of Faculties, Centers, Departments and lecturers of the University.

At the introduction session, Portcoast's experts presented an overview of Digital Twin technology – a digital replica model of physical assets that helps connect data between the real world and the digital environment to support management, operation, forecasting and optimization of asset utilization efficiency. In addition, the Company also shared development trends in AI Agents – artificial intelligence agents capable of automatically analyzing data, supporting decision-making, optimizing workflows and enabling a wide range of applications in education, scientific research and university administration.

The presented content clearly illustrated the potential applications of Digital Twin and AI Agent in developing digital laboratories, simulating infrastructure and facilities, managing physical assets, supporting visual teaching, utilizing research data and developing AI assistants for lecturers and students.

During the discussion, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Viet – Rector of Thuyloi University, highly appreciated the achievements Portcoast has made in researching, developing and implementing digital solutions for infrastructure, construction and seaport sectors.

The Rector emphasized that digital transformation is one of the University's strategic directions to enhance the quality of education, scientific research and university administration. In particular, the application of technologies such as Digital Twin, BIM, GIS and artificial intelligence will contribute to innovating teaching methods, strengthening research capacity and creating a modern learning environment for students.

Representing Portcoast, Mr. Tran Tan Phuc – Chairman of the Board of Directors, stated that Portcoast has always considered higher education institutions important partners in the innovation ecosystem and human resource development.

According to Mr. Tran Tan Phuc, with extensive experience in implementing large-scale Digital Twin projects in infrastructure, seaports and coastal engineering, Portcoast is ready to share technology platforms, data, implementation experience, as well as collaborate with Thuyloi University in scientific research, training, technology transfer and the development of practical application solutions.

Within the framework of the working session, leaders and key staff of the two organizations also held in-depth discussions on the current status of the University's digital infrastructure, the possibility of integrating Portcoast's existing technology platforms and the direction for developing a digital transformation roadmap for the coming period. Portcoast provided recommendations on implementation steps suited to the actual conditions of Thuyloi University to ensure investment efficiency, scalability and sustainability throughout the digital transformation process.

Previously, on July 21, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Viet – Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Hue – Standing Vice Rector, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Van Quang – Vice Rector, together with University staff, visited and worked at Portcoast. During the meeting, Portcoast had the opportunity to introduce representative Digital Twin projects currently being implemented by the Company, while also sharing implementation experience, including the integration of BIM–GIS, AI and monitoring data into these projects. This is considered an important foundation for strengthening the connection between research and training activities and the practical needs of businesses.

The cooperation between Thuyloi University and Portcoast was established in April 2025, when the two parties signed a cooperation agreement within the framework of the launch ceremony for the Virtual Tour system – a virtual tour platform that enables users to experience the University's campus from a 3D perspective. The event marked an important step in the University's comprehensive digital transformation roadmap, contributing to improved effectiveness in education and scientific research while strengthening connections with businesses.

The continued implementation of professional exchange activities on Digital Twin, AI Agent and modern digital technology platforms not only affirms Thuyloi University's determination in innovation and digital transformation, but also opens up broader opportunities for in-depth cooperation with businesses in scientific research, training and technology transfer. This will serve as an important foundation for the University to continue developing a digital university model, improving the quality of human resources and making positive contributions to the development of the construction, infrastructure and digital economy sectors in the coming period.
